Elementary Art Teacher: Anthony Lufkin

This year all students will be learning about how art is used as a visual language.  Students will be able to talk to others using symbols, pictures and other images.  All students will work with a variety of materials including clay, paint and other messy items so please be sure that your child comes to class ready to work!

Learning to use art materials and looking at and talking about art will be taking place in every class, each grade will have a special focus for the year.

Kindergarteners will focus on self-expression and improving fine motor skills.

First graders will focus on art in all disciplines and everyday life.

Second graders will focus on art in their community.

Third graders will focus on art and the environment as well as developing personal expression using a variety of multi-media.

Fourth graders will learn to identify the use of arts in their daily experiences while exploring emotional responses to various art forms and styles.
